Back in early January 1992 I remember reading several newspaper articles about an 18 year old young man from Hurdsfield North Dakota by the name of John Thompson who was horribly injured in a farm tractor accident. Both arms were ripped from his body and he was thrown unconscious. He was awakened by his dog, Tuffy who licked his face until he fully regained consciousness. Not knowing if he would survive his injuries, John got off the ground, staggered over 100 yards to the house and opened the door with his mouth.

Once inside the house he grasped a pen with his teeth to punch numbers on the phone to call for help. He went to the bathroom and climbed in the bathtub so we wouldn't bleed on his mother's new carpet, and waited for help.

John has written an excellent Book. It's entitled " Home In One Piece"
